Where's the Good Stuff this week?
Friday 5/31/25 roundup of what I'm reading on Substack
I love talking about letting go of the ‘stuff’ of ministry - what’s holding us back from the joy of church.
And getting to the ‘Good Stuff’ - sharing the love of God, finding beauty and miracles everywhere, living in hope and peace.
I find so much Good Stuff on Substack - it’s one reason I love this platform. I feel so connected to the best of church, ministry, and Christian faith. Plus so much creativity, beauty, humor and wonder in general.
Of course I can’t help sharing!
Here’s what I’ve found this week:
God stuff
‘Peace and Purpose’ by
. Not letting our hearts be troubled in a mad world.‘The Iron Cross on the Camino’, by
. I hardly ever read his writing without tears - this is the best.‘The Lie of Certainty’ by
. We’re all after truth - and still on the way to finding it.
Church stuff
‘What I Think About AI’ by
. Grappling with AI and the church.‘What the Mainline Church Can Learn from a Government Rollout Gone Wrong’ by
‘The gospel is still good news, but good news needs a vessel.’
Other stuff
‘Ambition Will Only Get You So Far’ by
. Quite simply: why are we here? What is the meaning of our lives?
I wrote a couple things, too!
Finally…
This week I re-launched the ‘gym for your soul.’
Called ‘Trexo’ (Tray-co), Greek for ‘run’ (of course!). ‘Run’ meaning ‘moving forward with full effort and directed purpose.’
It’s ancient Christian spiritual exercises for modern life.
