Where's the Good Stuff this week?
Friday 6/20/25 roundup of what I'm reading on Substack
‘Good Stuff’ = sharing the love of God, finding beauty and miracles everywhere, living in hope and peace.
I find so much Good Stuff on Substack - it’s one reason I love this platform. I feel so connected to the best of church, ministry, and Christian faith. Plus so much creativity, beauty, humor and wonder in general.
Of course I can’t help sharing!
Here’s what I’ve found this week:
God stuff
‘Alchemy Is the Sister Of Prophecy’ by
. ‘Prophecy as an unearthing of this is what’s going on’. Very interesting.‘Why you need a reserve of faithfulness’, by
. Simple, clear, powerful.‘When It’s Hard to Know What’s True’, by
. ‘The Spirit of Truth walks with us’. This gentle essay feels like a burden from my shoulders.
Church stuff
‘A Brief History of Salvation’ by
. I used to do a talk called ‘2,000 years of church history in 45 minutes’. This is like that - only better!‘Dear Evangelical Me’, by
. It’s so hard to reckon with our complicated feelings about a church we love and also left. As a former Roman Catholic, this touched me deeply.
Other stuff
‘Triathlon is What You Do, Not Who You Are’, by
. Even if you’re not an athlete (or don’t think you are), this is a very important article about mental health.
I wrote a couple of things, too!
Finally…
This is such a great resource. I’m new to using Substack (writing and reading), so something like this is a goldmine. Thank you.
Thank you Cathie for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was actually just a last-minute piece, but I like the idea of emphasizing how we are people first and athletes second as a way to maintain proper perspective in life.
