Reading this along with you but from my deacon’s perspective.

ministry is ministry! we do have our different callings, but I think sharing God's love in the world is a big thing to have in common :)

Interested to see how Plekon approaches it. I’ve always liked Zabriski’s approach in Total Ministry.

Thanks for featuring this new book of mine, Fr C. I think anyone picking it up will listen to and hear some wonderful things from a gathering of great voices--Barbara Brown Taylor, Rowan Williams, Sarah Coakley, Nada Bolz-Weber and a little from me too. I think added to what YOU have to say--and you're in the book as well--these are voices that echo what you just said here. Ministry remains important and we all participate in it, ordained and lay.

I’m excited to get into the book and write and talk about it. Thank you for the gift of writing it.

I agree. Ministry matters. You have inspired me with your recent post reflecting on your 25 years as a priest and now this , to reflect and post at my community “ Why Ministry Matters”. We are at a critical point like so many churches…healing, rector search, rebuilding volunteers , living the gospel.

It's a little scary. but I also find it an exciting and creating time.
